Sometimes the hike is hard. We look for reasons to stay positive, appreciate what it is, and look ahead to better times. Then there are the incredible, awe inspiring times when every vista is breathtaking and every step a joyful. This was our hike through Vermont.
The weather was absolutely perfect all the way through. The
puffy white clouds accented a baby blue sky. Mosquitoes and ticks were absent. The cherry on top was that we slack packed the whole Green Mountain state.
A lot of people’s favorite state on the AT is Vermont and we really saw us why when we hiked through. Vermont is calling us back, and the Long Trail in September is mighty enticing. I don’t think we can swing it this year, as our sore feet are begging the trail to end and our eyes scanning the horizon for Kathadin.
