Marlborough Sound

20131221-170701.jpgWe put our bags down for a week to pull some weeds. It was a short WWOOF stay in Wairapa, but it was fine. Getting to eat cooked, fresh food is much needed after living out of our back packs. Weeding isn’t leisurely, but it’s a change from shouldering our burdens, and it gives our backs a chance to stretch out.

We departed Wairapa today and got to Picton in three easy rides. The sun is shining, the water’s clear. Marlborough Sound is stunning. We’re back at the ocean for the first time in a week, and I’m reminded why I am here.

We depart this afternoon to hike the Queen Charlotte Track.
