After driving down the West Coast and east to Queenstown, we WWOOFed for a few days near Tapanui. As always, it helps to ground ourselves between spurts of motorized travel. We house-sat for a weekend and worked for most of the following week before heading to Stewart Island for more hiking. I did more beekeeping and food preservation, and we chopped heaps of wood for winter. During Edievale evenings, I learned to spin wool and make felted booties; everyone’s getting homemade fafies for Christmas next year.
