There is a lot of work that goes into a thru-hike. The past three weeks–the past three months, even–have been a frenzied rush of activity. So many hours of work went into our resupply boxes, our gear choices, and our itinerary. Every time we crossed one thing off our to-do list, we added two more. We’ve left our jobs and our home, packed up our lives for six months, put everything on hold.
And now we spend our last night indoors for a while, take our last showers for a while, say good-bye to our families and friends and our sweet fat cat. Tomorrow we fly to Tucson where a trail angel is picking us up and driving us to the trail head so we can start hiking the Arizona Trail.
