PCT Day 35: Zero in Bishop

May 26

Barking Spider here. I’m taking over the blog this week.

We woke up in our sweet room at the Mt. Williamson Motel. We got coffee at the co-op, packed our stuff up, picked up a package at the post office, and then hitched out of town.

A lovely couple on vacation gave us a ride to Bishop and we checked into The Hostel California. The place was alive with hikers. We went about doing our typical town day chores. We resupplied at the grocery store, did laundry in the laundromat next door, got some more gear (warm layers!) at the Gear Exchange, and ate until our bellies hurt.

The forecast was calling for precipitation in the Sierra Nevadas for the next couple of days. We considered staying in town until the weather got better but decided to just go for it.
